We lead Work Package 4 - Understanding Ecosystem Services and the Economic Value of Mineral Sites Restoration
We will assess economic valuation options by scoping relevant state of the art techniques from the literature. All relevant methods & approaches for valuing ecosystem services will be classified, to identify a set of methods that can be translated into a “valuation scheme”
for restoration sites. Primary data from ecosystem services assessments by RSPB will be combined with a willingness-to-pay (WTP) analyses that collects valuation information from relevant stakeholders This will produce an overview of the evaluation results, to inform
academia, the public and further steps in the project.
