Surrey County Council is a local government authority, located in South East England immediately south of London. Covering 167,713 hectares, Surrey has a population of over 1 million people, making it one of the most densely settled non metropolitan areas. Despite this, Surrey is the most wooded county in England, and is also internationally important for its lowland heathland.
The County Council is the Mineral Planning Authority for the area and has developed a national reputation for its approach to mineral restoration. The mineral extracted is principally sand & gravel, silica sand & brick clay.
